6th Annual BC Aboriginal Women in Leadership Forum

 

The Women in Leadership Foundation in partnership with Squamish Nation would like to invite you to the: 6th Annual BC Aboriginal Women in Leadership Forum – Community Champions on | 2012 Date TBD | 2012 Venue TBD | Vancouver, BC

This forum, presented by Scotiabank, unites people from all backgrounds to celebrate the achievements of accomplished Aboriginal women leaders of all ages. We aim to connect people from different cultures and generations, to share knowledge and to inspire each other through the dialogue of a Forum.

Hear three inspiring women share their powerful messages of empowerment and strength as they describe how they overcame tremendous obstacles to be successful in their careers.

Registration:  Admission is FREE. Everyone is welcome.

WIL Scholarship Awards Program

To date, WIL has awarded $15,000 in scholarships to young women across Canada.

The Scotiabank Aboriginal Women Leaders Scholarship Award was created in 2007 to recognize Aboriginal women who are active in their communities and support their pursuit of education. Awards are for financial assistance for post-secondary education. A Selection Committee bases their decisions on Aboriginal community involvement, grades, dedication, and financial need. Awards are presented to the recipients at the BC Aboriginal Women in Leadership Forums, which are held annually.  Recipients are honoured at each of these Forums.

Two awards of $1,000 each are presented each year.

-Full Name,

-Year of Birth,

-City/Town and Province you reside in,

-The name of the University or College you attend and what degree or certificate that is received or expected,

-What First Nation/Band you belong to,

-Recent and relevant employment history, and

-A Description of your leadership experiences and what contributions you have made in your community.
