Vancouver Chapter Positions
Position: PR & Communications Specialist
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for proactive public relations and marketing efforts
- Increase awareness and brand identity of the WIL foundation and WIL events
- Develop, write and edit a variety of traditional and online marketing messages
- Draft key messages for event emcees and speakers with assistance from staff
- Develop and manage media relations including pre and post events
- Work with the Strategic Partnership Specialist to secure media partnerships
- Work with event committees to ensure that event day brand components are in place
- Attend committee meetings and participate in a post-event evaluation
Your Skills & Experiences:
- Superior writing/proofreading and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of traditional and social media methods of promotion
- Experience with writing marketing or promotional materials
- 2-3 writing samples will be required
- Experience in event planning or public relations would be an asset
General Requirement and Commitment:
- Non-paid volunteer position
- Commitment for at least one year
- Committed to women in leadership
- Time needed to accomplish duties (approximately 6 – 10 hours/month depending on the time of year)
Position: Strategic Partnership Specialists
Your Responsibilities:
- Approach, establish, and maintain partner- and sponsorships with other corporations and organizations
- Ensure that partner- and sponsorship agreements are upheld
- Work with the Communications Specialist to secure media partnerships and sponsors
- Promote events to partnering corporations or organizations to increase participation
- Ensure all partner- and sponsorships are recognized properly before and during events
- Attend committee meetings and participate in post-event evaluation
Your Skills & Experiences:
- Ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Outgoing and comfortable with approaching and making presentations to partners and sponsors
- Ability to create sponsorship/marketing pitches
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
General Requirement and Commitment:
- Non-paid volunteer position
- Commitment for at least one year
- Committed to women in leadership
- Time needed to accomplish duties (approximately 6 – 10 hours/month depending on the time of year)
Position: Finance/Administration Specialist
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare and organize budgets for programming and events
- Analyze financial structure of all events and control cost expenditure
- Prepare and organize budgets for programming and events
- Responsible for record keeping and managing accounts
- Respond to and provide timely feedback on enquiries from partners and members
- Attend committee meetings and take minutes
Your Skills & Experiences:
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
- Proficient in using MS Office and other computer software
- Superior writing/proofreading and communication skills
- Attention to detail and professional telephone mannerisms
- 2-3 years administration and office experience an asset
