Gala Committee Volunteering Opportunities

WIL will be hosting our fourth annual SuperWomen & Friends Decade of Dreams Charity Gala in Vancouver on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel. This is a glamourous event that celebrates the SuperWomen in our midst and the SuperWomen in each of us that is making a difference in our businesses, communities, and in the lives of others. This year, we are aiming for 350 guests attend our Gala. We are looking for dynamic, energetic, and fun individuals, to join our various Gala teams as:

Position: Sponsorship Coordinators

Your Responsibilities

  • Approach, establish, and maintain partner- and sponsorships with other corporations and organizations
  • Promote event to partnering corporations or organizations
  • Ensure all partner- and sponsorships are recognized properly before and during event
  • Assist the Sponsorship Captain during event day
  • Attend Gala Committee meetings and participate in post-event evaluation

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Outgoing, warm, creative, and love to have fun
  • Comfortable with approaching and presenting to the public
  • Ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships
  • Exceptional verbal and written communicating skills

General Requirements and Commitment:

  • Non-paid volunteer position
  • Commitment for at least one year
  • Committed to women in leadership
  • Committee meetings (two monthly and one every week before an event)
  • Time needed to accomplish duties (appx. 6 – 10 hours/month depending on the time of year)

Position: Event Day Volunteers

We need a group of dedicated volunteers who would like to help us to execute our Charity Gala on November 5, 2011. Various different options are available, for example:

  • Registration and Coat Check
  • Event Set-up
  • Event Tear-down
  • Silent and Live Auction
  • VIP and Sponsor Support
  • Greeters
  • etc. …
