Our Montreal WIL Chapter is growing. We are looking for energetic people for the following positions:

Position: Volunteer Coordinator

Your Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and organize volunteers for different events and programs
  • Assign tasks and manage volunteers during events and programs
  • Liaise with WIL staff and committees on updates and progress
  • Develop a process to evaluate WIL’s events
  • Attend committee meetings and participate in a post-event evaluation meeting
  • Provide process and communication guidelines for volunteer teams
  • Develop and maintain relationships

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Experienced in coordinating and managing large groups of volunteers (at least 20 volunteers)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate people
  • Experienced in planning and managing committees and events

General Requirement and Commitment:

  • Non-paid volunteer position
  • Commitment for at least one year
  • Committed to women in leadership
  • Committee meetings (two monthly and one every week before an event)
  • Time needed to accomplish duties (appx. 6 – 10 hours/month depending on the time of year)

Position: Strategic Partnership Specialists

Your Responsibilities:

  • Approach, establish, and maintain partner- and sponsorships with other corporations and organizations
  • Ensure that partner- and sponsorship agreements are upheld
  • Work with the PR and Communications Specialist to secure media partnerships and sponsors
  • Promote events to partnering corporations or organizations to increase participation
  • Ensure all partner- and sponsorships are recognized properly before and during events
  • Attend committee meetings and participate in post-event evaluation

Your Skills & Experiences:

  • Ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Outgoing and comfortable with approaching and making presentations to partners and sponsors
  • Ability to create sponsorship/marketing pitches
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

Position: Event Planner (Logistics Coordinator)

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of event days are planned, coordinated, and efficiently run
  • Coordinate venues (rental, room setup, catering, audio/visual, etc.)
  • Coordinate speakers and organize thank you gifts and cards
  • Manage event reception setup (i.e. name tags and other materials needed)
  • Print and pick up event signage
  • Attend committee meetings and participate in a post-event evaluation

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Highly organized and comfortable with conflict resolution and creative problem solving
  • Energetic and exceptional communicator (verbal and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
  • Dynamic and responsible team player and ability to build effective working relationships
  • Experienced in planning, executing, and managing mid to large scale events (at least 2)
