This year WIL will be hosting the Ontario Women in Business Luncheon on Thursday October 6th, 2011 at the Design Exchange, Toronto. This luncheon is part of our National Spotlight Speaker Series, which showcases female role models in business and fosters the expansion of networks. Five inspirational women from different industries shared their journeys of leadership, tips for success and how they overcame obstacles along the way.

General Requirement and Commitment for all positions:
- Non-paid volunteer position
- Commitment for at least one year
- Committed to Women in Leadership
- Time needed to accomplish duties (approximately 6 – 10 hours/month depending on the time of year)
- Attend regular meetings with other volunteers and team members after regular working hours

Position: Communications Specialist
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for proactive public relations and marketing efforts to increase awareness and brand identity of the foundation and WIL events
- Develop, write and edit a variety of traditional and online marketing messages
- Draft key messages for event emcees and speakers with assistance from staff
- Develop and manage media relations including pre and post events
- Work with Logistics Coordinator for events to ensure that event day brand components are in place
- Attend committee meetings and participate in a post-event evaluation meeting
Your Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Superior writing/proofreading and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of traditional and social media methods of promotion
- Experience with writing marketing or promotional materials
- 2-3 writing samples will be required
Position: Strategic Partnership Specialist
Your Responsibilities:
- Approach, establish, and maintain partnerships with other companies
- Ensure that sponsorship agreements are upheld
- Work with Communication Specialist to secure media sponsors
- Promote ticket sales to sponsor’s company or organization
- Ensure all sponsors are recognized properly before and during events
- Attend committee meetings and participate in a post-event evaluation meeting
Your Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Ability to build and maintain long-lasting relationships
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Outgoing and comfortable with approaching and making presentations to sponsors
- Ability to create and lead creative sales/marketing pitches and campaigns
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
Position: Volunteer Coordinator
Your Responsibilities:
- Recruit and organize volunteers for different events and programs
- Follow up with volunteers and send out appreciation/recognition memos
- Liaise with WIL staff and committees on updates and progress
- Attend committee meetings and participate in a post-event evaluation meeting
- Maintain relationships and communication lines with our volunteer teams
Your Skills, Abilities Experience:
- Experienced in coordinating and managing large groups of volunteers (at least 20 volunteers)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead and motivate people
- Experienced in planning and managing committees and events
Your Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring all aspects of event days are planned, coordinated, and efficiently run
- Coordinate venues (rental, room setup, catering, audio/visual, etc.)
- Coordinate speakers and organize thank you gifts and cards
- Manage event reception setup (i.e. name tags and other materials needed)
- Print and pick up event signage
- Attend committee meetings and participate in a post-event evaluation meeting
Your Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Highly organized and comfortable with conflict resolution and creative problem solving
- Energetic and exceptional communicator (verbal and written)
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
- Dynamic and responsible team player and ability to build effective working relationships
- Experienced in planning, executing, and managing mid to large scale events (at least 2)
