We are fortunate that the Alberta Chapter is lead by a handful of great women and supported by a cast of quality and committed committee and event volunteers. Each year the Chapter holds quality programs & events with great autonomy.
MEET THE TEAM
Heather is a passionate Educational Leader with extensive experience in the education field. She is also the founder of Bold and Brave Coaching. Heather holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and a Secondary Teaching Certificate. Heather is a Certified Executive Coach and received her training through Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC. She is also a Certified Positive Intelligence Coach (CPQC) and has her ACC designation through the International Coaching Federation. She is an author and public speaker. In her spare time, Heather enjoys working out and relaxing with friends and family. Heather enjoys fashion, travelling and meeting new people.
Angela a Bachelor of Science, Chemistry Major has a diverse background. Angela worked overseas in the Aviation industry for over 13 years and currently is National Account Manager /Recruiter with Design Group Staffing Inc. Her excellent customer service skills allow her to build and continually develop long-term business relationships based on trust and proven performance. Angela is thrilled to be a part of this inspiring network of women and is looking forward to making contributions to ensure the Chapters’ success.
Christie is an accomplished, driven healthcare executive with 20 years of progressive leadership experience in various roles across the healthcare system. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Camrose and Wetaskiwin Primary Care Networks. She has provided innovative and enthusiastic leadership to a variety of healthcare teams. She has a Master's Degree in Health Administration and a certificate in Lean Six Sigma. Christie has been successful in transforming clinical teams and organizations while remaining focused on high-quality patient care. Christie has demonstrated the ability to connect strategic planning while using change management theories to implement evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes. Christie is passionate about making a difference and is committed to mentoring other leaders to pursue greatness. She is a mother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend. She runs and plays soccer to balance out her love of good food and red wine.
Social Media & Content Strategist
Jill is joining WIL Alberta as our Digital Marketing Strategist. She is a professional, innovative, and creative problem solver at heart with a passion for helping people. Everything she does is focused on people and business. She loves sitting down with everyone, talking about ideas, and coming up with the best ways to achieve them. She has worked as a Project Manager for the last 10 years and has found a niche for process optimization, internal communication, and marketing strategies. She has recently started leveraging her project management background, love for helping people and creativity to market and promote small businesses and entrepreneurs’. Pre-Covid she ran a small event production company where she focused on collaborating with and showcasing local talent. She is a life-long learner and is currently working to complete her Digital Marketing Certificate this August.
Leanne Russell joined Capital Power in 2014 and is the Senior Manager of People Engagement and Development. In her present capacity, she is responsible for Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Learning and Development for the entire organization.
Prior to being appointed Senior Manager, People Engagement and Development at Capital Power, Leanne was the Manager, Learning and Development.
Leanne has over 25 years of experience in the learning and development field. 12+ years as an educator and leader with Edmonton Public Schools and 13+ years working in the corporate sector. Prior roles include Manager of Learning and Development for CS Financial and the Director of Retail Learning for the Brick.
Leanne is a teacher and certified facilitator and executive coach. She received her Bachelor of Education Degree at the University of Alberta, her Graudate Certificate for Executive Coaching through Royal Roads University, and other certifications through various professional associations. She is a past board member for the Institute of Perfomance and Learning and, for the past 5 years, has devouted much of her volunteer time dedicated to supporting her son’s sports activities.
Kyla is an organizational effectiveness professional with experience as a consultant, facilitator, and coach in the fields of learning and development, engagement, and organizational development. Working with leaders and teams across many different industries, she has a vast knowledge of public and private organizations both domestically and internationally with extensive experience in healthcare.
Kyla holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Alberta and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. In addition, she is trained in LEADS, Personality Dimensions, Strengths Finder methodology, Mental Health First Aid and has experience designing and facilitating various leadership courses for leaders at all levels.
She is inspired to help women discover their authentic self and how their values, goals and dreams impact their leadership journey in all aspects of their lives. Kyla enjoys spending time at the lake with family, skiing in the winter and any activity that includes her dog! Kyla is looking forward to being a part of this powerful network of women in leadership.
Jodi Tychkowsky is an experienced website designer who owns and operates her own freelance business. Throughout her 20 years working as both graphic designer and website designer, she has worked for universities and private companies while freelancing all along the way. For the last 7 years she has worked solely for her own company, Sprint Websites, creating websites primarily for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
She seeks to empower women in business, creating websites that make them feel confident when they send their site to potential clients. She tries to simplify anything complicated and make her process as easy as possible for anyone unfamiliar in the tech world.
She learned to hand code websites in 1999 and earned a BFA in painting from the U of A. She has a number of creative pursuits including painting, taking photographs, writing songs and playing music. She reads a lot and loves the library. She likes a good visit with a neighbour, friend or family member. She has a family with a son, a dog and a cat.
Sara is a passionate leader, and is inspired by helping others to achieve their potential. She is committed to her own journey of self-discovery, on a lifelong learning journey to become the best possible version of herself. She currently works as a Deputy Program Manager within the Defence industry, where she has worked for over 12 years. She actively participates in mentoring relationships, both as a mentor and mentee, whilst also holding an Associate Coaching Certificate from the ICC. Sara relocated to Calgary from the UK in 2019 with her family, and thoroughly enjoys living so close to the moutains and going on adventures. Sara is hugely excited about joining this incredible network of women in leadership, and can’t wait to build connections with other inspiring leaders!
Kaleigh is a multi-dimensional and multi-passionate leader, creator, and connector who finds her greatest purpose in empowering others into their own authentic and heart-centered leadership. She values love, freedom, truth, and growth above all else. She is WIL's Mentorship Director and also supports the Alberta Chapter initiatives. She lives for deep connection; it is a huge part of her personal "why" and her passion for WIL and mentorship. She is a mentor and a mentee in many facets. She believes in mentorship for building strong connections, continuous learning and growth, fostering a felt sense of belonging in herself and others, inspiring and empowering herself and others to lead, and to support others through similar paths and challenges as her own. She is located in Calgary, Alberta and has 9+ years of experience as a Project Manager and Engineer in the Energy Industry. She recently graduated with a Global MBA from IE Business School. Outside of her work, she loves to write, meditate, drink tea, be in nature, travel, create recipes and cook, and spend quality time with her loved ones.
Penny is an inspirational leader focused on instilling and cultivating a growth mindset. Having built, overhauled and merged teams to drive key outcomes, her focus has been on records & information management, large process improvements, cultural and change management and growing leaders both in and outside her organizations. Penny holds a Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in International Business from Royal Roads University and is a Certified Records Manager with over 22 years of experience in leadership roles across 8 industries. Penny is an active member of Enbridge’s United Way Calgary committee and recently appointed Co-Chair of the Enbridge FEMINEN Calgary Chapter. As a servant leader, Penny is focused on leading with influence while seeking unique opportunities to help others be the best versions of themselves.
