About the Event
Emotional Intelligence for Leaders
“The technical skills that helped secure your first promotion might not guarantee your next. If you aspire to be in a leadership role, there’s an emotional element you need to consider. It’s what helps you successfully coach teams, manage stress, deliver feedback, and collaborate with others.
It’s called emotional intelligence, and accounts for nearly 90 percent of what sets high performers apart from peers with similar technical skills and knowledge.”
~ Lauren Landry, Harvard Business School Online
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a set of emotional and social skills that influence how we perceive and express ourselves, develop and maintain relationships, make decisions and handle challenges and use emotional information in an effective way.
Unlike IQ, EQ can continue to grow and develop over time. This is essential for leaders. Leadership is about inspiring and motivating people, which requires a high level of emotional intelligence. After all, people are emotional beings.
Research Shows Leaders with High EQ:
• Experience higher levels of personal performance
• Generate 15-20% higher revenues in their teams or divisions
• Have four times better employee retention
• Are more trusted by their teams and therefore, more motivated employees
• Experience better team cohesion and effectiveness
• Constructively manage conflict and experience fewer grievances
At the end of this webinar you will walk away with:
• A better understanding of EQ and how it’s different from IQ
• Knowledge of the EQ-I 2.0® model and the five areas that make up EQ
• Strategies you can implement to strengthen your EQ and become a more effective leader
