Join us to relax and recharge for this virtual WIL Wellness event, leading up to International Self-Care Day.
Event agenda as follows:
Mindfulness Practice : 5:30-6:00pm
Yoga Practice: 6:10-7:00
All levels and everyBODY is welcome to both practices. Dress in any attire you feel relaxed enough to participate in (don’t worry you won't have your camera on!) and we suggest a yoga mat (or any spot you feel comfortable in).

Luz Stella Jara is a Certified Positive Psychology Coach and Meditation Instructor. She has extensive experience in the financial services sector, where she first discovered her passion for helping others. Although she had found success and stability in the financial field, Luz Stella knew that she wanted to help people on a more holistic level. Informed by her professional and life experiences, she left the financial field to build a life and a career that was better aligned with her values and her interests in individual and collective wellbeing. As a personal coach and meditation instructor, Luz Stella found a renewed sense of meaning and purpose in her life. She now lives out her dream vocation and is constantly inspired by her clients' courage, compassion, and resilience. Since taking on this profession, Luz Stella has helped many individuals get back on their feet with practical, profound and life-changing tools through her Mindfulness and Life Coaching practices and programs.
Luz Stella is the founder of LuzLife, a series of programs and social media platforms through which she provides tools and information to improve people’s lives. Luz Stella broadcasts a wellbeing radio program (Luzlife) in New Orleans U.S (97.9 La Calle Stereo), and has a podcast and a YouTube program with three different channels interviewing experts and people with inspiring stories. Having lived most of her life in Colombia, Luz Stella is passionate about giving back to the community. One of her most recent projects involved restoring a public school in a severely under-resourced Colombian community. As a result, over 20 children will return to school after three years of not having any access to education.
In her spare time, Luz Stella continues to pursue her love for learning. She is an avid reader and has taken several certifications and courses to ensure she is serving her clients in the best possible ways. She also loves spending time with her family, practicing and teaching mindfulness, biking, traveling, and going on adventures in nature.

Margaret Noel s a Certified Yoga and Meditation Instructor and also a student at the University of British Columbia, completing her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology. focusing on the areas of embodiment, eating disorders, and body image. Her passion for this field stems from her own experience healing her relationship to my body through the practice of embodiment.
Margaret first came into yoga searching for a means of recovery and cross-training for the intense workouts she was putting my body through at the time. As a former varsity distance runner, she saw her body as an object. Something to be pushed to its limits, to punish, to control, to fear. In the early stages of attending yoga classes, she found herself misaligned with the principles put forward: honouring the varying sensations of the body and finding respect for the body were not in hervocabulary.
Although her progression to honouring her body was not a quick one, what she eventually found through yoga was a sense of calm and peace away from the over-exertion and rigidity she'd been accustomed to. Through different styles, she was able to find joy in movement, honouring what her body was asking for on any given day, and connecting deep to the sensations within and beneath her skin. Having had the opportunity to heal her own relationship to her body and experience all that yoga has to offer, her wish to help others find peace and passion that she has been so fortunate to find.
Through yoga, she wishes to hold space for all practitioners to connect deeper to their embodied selves, to feel free to move in a way that serves them, and to step into new opportunities both on and off the mat. She teaches an alignment-based practice, intended to meet each student at whatever level they come into class with on any given day, incorporating both fiery sequences to build heat within the body, along with a balance of cooling postures to find stillness. Her classes are tied together with a soulful playlist to help get you out of your mind and into the goodness of your body.
