"Vicki: Lifting Others Up by Paying a Living Wage

Vicki will discuss the growing phenomenon of the working poor and how business can change it. When businesses pay wages that meet the basic needs of their employees, those employees can afford to focus their talent and creativity on their work, becoming more engaged, passionate, and innovative, and ultimately benefiting the business itself. When businesses don't pay living wages, all citizens subsidize their decision with the high tax and social cost of supporting workers forced to live in poverty. So how can business afford to pay more? First, help shareholders define how much profit is Enough. Then balance that need with the needs of all stakeholders - employees, community, environment, customers and suppliers - and focus on creating value rather than redistributing it."

"Candace:  Lifting Others Up Through Authentic Connections

We are not anyone's savior. Candace will be talking about how we can support others growth and development through authentic connecting and relating - in any and all environments and capacities. Authentic connecting allows us to see others through a lens of compassion and understanding. When we can identify and acknowledge our own humanness and get curious with others, we invite others to do the same. This creates the space for vulnerability and sharing...real authentic connection.
