Chris (he/him) is the cofounder/CEO for Renzoku - a new tech school in Victoria that aims to lower barriers of entry into STEAM fields through apprenticeship style learning in web development and the business of technology. Coming from the Japanese word for repetition and continuity, Renzoku is pleased to be able to partner with several companies and organizations to help our apprentices move seamlessly from learning to doing and vice versa. Prior to Renzoku, Chris’s passion to be helpful pushed him to start a social recreation business, a project management consulting company and spend a lot of his career in various non-profit capacities. Most recently, you’ll find Chris being most helpful by sharing his golf balls in miscellaneous places around the course.

Daniela Damian, Professor of Software Engineering, University of Victoria

I like to think of myself as an enabler of opportunities and experiences of those around me (and myself!).

As a researcher and teacher, I support my students to develop as independent, critical thinkers of timely issues in the software research and practice. As a mother, I enable my kids to grow an open, emphatic mind in the world around them. Whether we travel around the world, or swim in BC's beautiful lakes, I often place them in (challenging) situations that takes them oustide their comfort zone but makes them a bit more resilient in life.

I thus allow myself to embrace a multifaceted life, busy but fullfilling. My active family has been, in fact, the best balance to my busy work life. Happy to share from my experience, and how I continue to enjoy a long term relationship with my family amidst a crazy life.

Participation is FREE but attendance is limited. Register today.
