SPEAKERS
Dr. Andrew Gemino is a Beedie Professor, Interim Academic Director of the Indigenous Business Leadership EMBA, and Associate Dean of Executive Education in the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University. He is an award-winning teacher and was the founding director of the Charles Chang Institute for Entrepreneurship at SFU. His research focused on project management, business solutions design and business analytics, has received over $1M from the National Sciences and Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and Social Science and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). Andrew currently focuses on Indigenous perspectives on project management and digital transformation programs in organizations.
Roger Beauchemin
President and CEO, Addenda Capital, and Chair of the Board of the Responsible lnvestment Association
As President and Chief Executive Officer, Roger Beauchemin oversees Addenda Capital's business strategy and operations.
Roger joined the Addenda Capital team as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer in 2013, before being appointed President and CEO in 2015. He previously worked at McLean Budden Limited starling in 1999, holding senior management positions before being appointed President in 2006, and CEO in 2008.
Roger is a recipient of 2021 Canada's Clean5O and Canada's Clean16 Awards as a leader in the Financial and Services Organizations category. He is Chair of the Responsible Investment Association (RIA) Board of Directors, and an Advisory Board Member of the lnstitute for Sustainable Finance. He is also a Member of the Founding Advisory Committee of the Canadian lnstitute for Sustainable Finance at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University. Roger holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from McGill University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
Firas Ali
Worley Canada
Firas is a motivational, servant leader and a Professional Engineer with more than 28 years of diverse, international experience in Energy, Oil & Gas and Minerals projects. Currently holding the position of Vice President-Projects for Canada West at Worley, he is passionate about People Development and plays an active role in mentoring and building future leaders. He was elected Vice Chairperson for the North America West Women of Worley network and is currently the Executive Sponsor for Canada West Women of Worley network, promoting Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace. Firas is also an active volunteer within the community and has been a mentor at the Women In Science and Engineering (WISE) Planet, University of Calgary since 2021.
Firas holds a Doctor Degree (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering from ENSAM-Paris, a Master of Advanced Studies in Acousto-Opto-Electronics and Structural Mechanics, and an Engineer’s Degree (Diplôme d’Ingénieur) from ENSMM-Besançon. His international work experience spreads over three continents. He is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
