My desire to join ELPP came from my wish to gain some good leadership experience and learn from the organization that works for empowering people. In my youth, I did not have many chances to take on leadership positions or to get any professional experience, so I was glad to become part of the program that gives young people a chance to participate, learn, and develop. I was eager to find a way to be challenged, shaken up, and gain some skills I could improve.

My involvement in volunteering at the Women in Leadership Foundation was very successful. I was busy with creating online and marketing content, helping to create templates, and helping the organization with its communication and outreach. I saw how much creativity, planning, and cooperation are involved in running a nonprofit. It was very inspiring to be part of the cause that supports women and gives opportunities for future leaders. I appreciated being around the people who are passionate, positive, and advice-sharing.

During this time, I learned various essential skills, which include communication, collaboration, creativity, and time management. I understood how crucial it is to understand the aims of an organization and its audience in content creation, and that small details can play an enormous role in how a message is transmitted. Moreover, apart from technical skills, this experience allowed me to become more self-assured while being able to share ideas, initiate processes, and realize how youth can contribute if they are provided with that opportunity.

I personally learned to grow through this program because it was able to motivate me to believe in my strength. In addition, I was able to realize that leadership is not only about having a title or position to occupy but also about the willingness to help, collaborate with others, and apply one's abilities to make positive changes.

Anyone looking to volunteer via the Emerging Leaders Placement Project should definitely explore the opportunity. It’s a great experience that allows you to meet inspiring people and learn useful skills you can use down the road. No matter if you’re new to leadership experience or want to expand your horizons, this program offers a good environment for you to share your thoughts and make something to change in the relevant world.
