The Transforming Workplace Opportunities Initiative: Intake Now Open for 18 Employers Creating pathways for women’s leadership placement in Canada


KELOWNA, BC., November 28, 2024 —The Women in Leadership Foundation (WIL) is thrilled to announce that the intake is officially open for the new Transforming Workplace Opportunities (TWO) Employer Program. As of November 2024, 18 spots are available for organizations ready to take a transformative journey toward building inclusive and equitable workplaces and working together to provide advancement opportunities for women leaders.


A National Call to Action

The TWO Employer Program is part of an ambitious, 21-month program designed to foster systemic change in workplaces across Canada. This initiative, generously funded by Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) Canada, will span communities from coast to coast, bringing tailored resources, mentorship, and actionable insights to employers as we work to increase women’s representation in leadership and decision-making roles across democratic, civic, public, and private sectors, with a strong emphasis on BIPOC communities.“Together, we can create workplaces where everyone thrives,” says Maya Kanigan, Founder and President of the Women in Leadership Foundation.


The Transforming Workplace Opportunities Initiative is not just a program; it’s a movement to inspire workplaces to dream big and lead with purpose. As part of the initiative, WIL will host Career Placement Forums and roundtables across Canada, designed to facilitate pathways for placement and help employers create an inclusive human resource framework that encourages women from all backgrounds to pursue leadership roles. A dedicated Indigenous Lead will guide employers in this journey through an advancing reconciliation-focused approach, bridging the gap between inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.

This customized offering, tailored to meet each organization’s specific needs, provides unparalleled access to DEIB expertise, personalized consultations, and strategies to develop a culture of belonging. Don’t delay—this is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on support and national recognition as a leader in workplace equity. By joining the


TWO Employer Program, participants will benefit from:

● One-on-one consultation with a DEIB expert, providing tailored strategies to align with your organization’s goals.

● Expert-led sessions on mentorship, leadership development, inclusive hiring practices, health & wellness and advancing reconciliation.

● Customized policy development, accountability frameworks, and guidance to implement sustainable DEIB strategies.

● Recognition within WIL’s extensive network of 200,000 women leaders, showcasing your organization’s commitment to women in leadership and workplace transformation.


This eight-month program, running from April to November 2025, is offered virtually and at no cost, thanks to the financial support of Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) Canada.
